pop Posted September 11, 2011 Share #1 Posted September 11, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) From time to time someone manages to post a thread with a title which ends with the word "print". That seems to be the last thing that can be done to that thread. The thread can not be accessed because the forum software apparently adds an extra "-print" to the thread title whenever you try to access the thread. This presents what I think is the printing version of the thread. The author can not report the thread. It has no "report" button. What to do when we detect a thread where this happens? There is one right now in the Digital Post Processing Forum named "Can't print": http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/digital-post-processing-forum/200237-cant-print.html
Advertisement Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Hi pop, Take a look here Thread titles with the word "print" at the end. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted September 11, 2011 Share #2 Posted September 11, 2011 Let me edit the title and see what happens.
andybarton Posted September 11, 2011 Share #3 Posted September 11, 2011 I can't even edit the title. Must be a bug in the software.
pop Posted September 11, 2011 Author Share #4 Posted September 11, 2011 Thanks for trying. In this particular case it does not matter. The user has started another thread with a title which works fine.
Guest Posted September 12, 2011 Share #5 Posted September 12, 2011 Where is the "report" button in general? Simon
pop Posted September 12, 2011 Author Share #6 Posted September 12, 2011 This one: to the left of each post.
prunelle Posted September 12, 2011 Share #7 Posted September 12, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thank you. I wondered why this thread looked so weird, the "Can't print" one. It simply was the print version, which explain why it couldn't be edited. Good to know!
Guest Posted September 12, 2011 Share #8 Posted September 12, 2011 Thank you, Philipp ! Just anoher technical question, to you Andy as an admin and to Philipp, too: you Philipp easilly being the most eloquent member of the German and English forum combined. I don't wish to see the thank-yous given by the one(s) on my ignore list either. Would it be much work for Andreas to take this logical step? Yes, I could ask Andreas myself, but he'd rather listen to you . Best, Simon
jaapv Posted September 12, 2011 Share #9 Posted September 12, 2011 I got a mail by Andreas that the print problem has been fixed.
jaapv Posted September 12, 2011 Share #10 Posted September 12, 2011 But on trying the bug is still there.... See the thread I started...
andybarton Posted September 12, 2011 Share #11 Posted September 12, 2011 I don't wish to see the thank-yous given by the one(s) on my ignore list either. Would it be much work for Andreas to take this logical step? Let me get this straight. You don't want to see Thank You's given by people on your Ignore List? Any particular reason why? And, no, I have no idea how easy or difficult this is to achieve, but I am sure that there are a lot of other things on Andreas's "To Do" list
pop Posted September 13, 2011 Author Share #12 Posted September 13, 2011 I don't wish to see the thank-yous given by the one(s) on my ignore list either. Would it be much work for Andreas to take this logical step? Given that the members on your ignore list presumably are those you're not on speaking terms with: should not the thanks of those members be the most valuable ones? Although the change you propose would be - in terms of programming - rather straightforward I would not urge Andreas to implement it. I see no marked advantage to it. Now, if I could see the thanks in the chronological they were given or if the forum removed the quotes quoting members on my ignore list....
