Advertisement Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Hi jaapv, Take a look here Leica Warrenty Cards. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
StephenPatterson Posted September 10, 2011 Share #22  Posted September 10, 2011 so if i fill out the warranty cards now and send them in to nj, what happens if i can not find my purchase recept? am i out of luck?  i know i have the warranty cards but when i bought these lenses used i dont think i got the recepts of purchase.  My impression in dealing with Leica NJ was that they did not need to see my bill of sale before issuing my passport warranty cards for my 2 new lenses, which arrived about 10 days after sending in the cards. I did not receive any "notice" after sending in the card on the M9-P (which isn't covered by the same US Passport program), but as it's registered on the website and the card has been sent I feel confident that if I needed warranty work it would be honored.  FYI, my Leica dealer sends bill of sales that look like something a waitress gives a short order cook at a burger joint. Detailed it is not (including no date).
Ivar B Posted September 12, 2011 Share #23 Â Posted September 12, 2011 I recall that when my M8 collapsted with sudden death I emailed Solms saying that the guarantee card had not been validated, but this was no problem at all and the repair was done under guarantee. Â The same with a 75mm which needed focussing adjustment - I had the original receipt from Meister in Hamburg and this was no problem at all.
MachineGun Posted September 12, 2011 Share #24  Posted September 12, 2011 Ok, i might have jumped the gun, but my assumption to why a PayPal invoice won't work is that PayPal is not a very used way of paying amongst the certified Leica dealers. If at any? I think it might be hard to get all the required details on the invoice. eg. serial number and some kind of proof that it is not faked.  But i might be wrong. Best to check with Leica. A PayPal receipt from a private sell will definitely not work.  I E Mailed Leica USA in NJ and asked if I could use my PayPal invoice as proof of purchase. They E mailed be back and asked some questions, and I answered them . I then received a request from them to send them a copy of my PayPal invoice so they could register it in my name. Looks like the are accepting it. Thanks MachineGun
