Advertisement Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Hi erlingmm, Take a look here Reindeer gathered for slaughter. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
erlingmm Posted September 6, 2011 Author Share #2 Â Posted September 6, 2011 To much vignetting in the first image, I prefer this one:
pauledell Posted September 7, 2011 Share #3 Â Posted September 7, 2011 Your second version is better. Excellent composition, tones, light and atmosphere. Â Paul
erlingmm Posted September 7, 2011 Author Share #4 Â Posted September 7, 2011 Still working on it, this is a version done in Silver Efex Pro, as Tri-X 400: Â http://erlingmm.zenfolio.com/img/v29/p441302904-5.jpg
jaapv Posted September 7, 2011 Share #5 Â Posted September 7, 2011 I like it, but I think the centre is a tad too bright. And I miss a black point, maybe you should shift the whole image towards low key - I don't know, it would look quite different.
stuny Posted September 7, 2011 Share #6 Â Posted September 7, 2011 Quite lovely in #2, but I am curious to see if Jaap's suggestion makes it even stronger.

The bin is dark, the light part in the centre is actually dust, and there is daylight above the dust. But comments are appreciated.
stickan1 Posted September 7, 2011 Share #8 Â Posted September 7, 2011 Yes! The last version is definitely the best one. I saw your photograph yesterday and also had the feeling that it would come out better if you made it darker. It is a very strong photograph that tells a story and clearly shows the stress for the reindeers.

msk2193 Posted September 9, 2011 Share #10 Â Posted September 9, 2011 So much for all the kids expecting their Christmas toys this year!
erlingmm Posted September 9, 2011 Author Share #11 Â Posted September 9, 2011 How terrible for them. Â Of course, but this is how you get meat on your table. I actually think it was done in a very "humane" and decent way. But these animals live like wild, wandering freely over great distances in the mountains the whole year, and course they react when gathered like this in a small area.
