Agent M10 Posted September 5, 2011 Share #1 Â Posted September 5, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am on a waiting list for a Noctilux 0.95. I've heard that some dealers still have one or two on their shelves. If you're aware of a dealer who has one in stock, please let me know.

MarkP Posted September 6, 2011 Share #2  Posted September 6, 2011 Best of luck as they are in particularly short supply.  In conversation today with the head of the Leica distributor in Australia we were discussing lens availability, or lack thereof, and I was advised that there are 40 (yes, forty) f0.95/50 Noctilux's/Noctilii (whatever the pleural is) on backorder in Australia, a relatively small market!  Have a nice wait Welcome, dear visitor! StephenPatterson Posted September 10, 2011 Share #4 Â Posted September 10, 2011 Here in Hong Kong I saw that Gurus had a new Noctilux 0.95 on the shelf yesterday at their shop in The Landmark. I didn't ask the price (as I'm not interested in owning this lens), but as they are an authorized Leica dealer it should be at HK MSRP. earful Posted September 12, 2011 Share #8 Â Posted September 12, 2011 if you're willing to pay the freight: maybe lighthaus camera in honolulu. there is one listed on their website. not sure it's in stock, but i noticed that they don't list all the current lenses, which leads me to believe that perhaps they are only listing those actually in hand. good luck. StephenPatterson Posted September 13, 2011 Share #10 Â Posted September 13, 2011 earful, Â Thanks, I've emailed them. Never heard back from the HK guys. Â Gurus is an impressive shop in Hong Kong, and the owners are obviously passionate and knowledgeable (an S1 and S2 in the case, their own special edition painted D-Lux 5s) but I wonder if it is all just a private collection that only sells the more common items like X1s and holds back the M9-P in chrome and Noctilux for their own personal use (or to only sell at a substantial markup). I'm not sure Leica would be happy to hear about such activity occurring at an authorized dealer. Perhaps the large number of grey market shops in close proximity selling for thousands over list price is just too tempting to ignore. I hope not, but I have my suspicions. Agent M10 Posted September 13, 2011 Author Share #11 Â Posted September 13, 2011 Hawaii emailed me and said that they don't have one in stock. Â Ronan, really only interested in the MSRP price. I prefer a dealer, but if someone bought the lens and decided he didn't like it, I'd consider that, too.

Unfortunately that's the older f1.0 version, not the newer f0.95. Although the advert says 2010 there's no way the new one would be at that price.  Bob. Stateowned Posted September 14, 2011 Share #15 Â Posted September 14, 2011 i agree with that but its not a bad lens , specialy when considering that the f0.95 isnt available anywhere in the world.
Agent M10 Posted September 14, 2011 Author Share #16 Â Posted September 14, 2011 Hey, just a thanks for all those with the clues, including those who have PM'ed me. Had a chance at one yesterday, but it was sold in between emails that were about 3 minutes apart. So, still on the hunt. Â I know a little about the manufacturing process of the 1.0, but learned that the 0.95's glass takes 12 months to cool. So, I imagine there will be a lag in production for quite a while. thighslapper Posted October 5, 2011 Share #19 Â Posted October 5, 2011 I would suggest an 'active' plan rather than a 'passive' one sitting patiently on multiple waiting lists. Â Most people are on multiple lists and when dealers get stock they often get fed up phoning around trying to find someone who actually still wants one and has cash at hand. Â On two occasions in the last 10 months I have been offered Noctiluxes when I phoned a well known UK stockist about other things and just enquired on the off chance. Â On the last occasion (friday) I said yes... and collected it on saturday. They had spent several days trying to contact anyone on their list with no luck. I was allegedly 'on the list' as well but they had no record of me ...... so I would take all the 'waiting list' malarkey with a pinch of salt.... unless you have paid money/deposit up front that is. Being on a list is not a contract and you are entirely reliant on the dealer to be fair and diligent in informing you .... and I suspect most will just grab the cash from the first one to offer it... Â Anyway, the moral is that active persistence pays off.... I have accumulated all the lenses I wanted in the last 15 months by keeping an eye on all the major european Leica stores online and phoning up a selection of others on a regular basis... Â Best of luck, you will get one eventually... probably when you least expect it and have spent all your money;)
Agent M10 Posted October 5, 2011 Author Share #20 Â Posted October 5, 2011 Thighslapper, Â You've done well, then. I have called around and haven't found a dealer with a lens just lying out on a shelf. Some of the dealers that I've contacted are requiring a down payment just to get on their list. (That, I'm not willing to do.) The last dealer I contacted said that he has moved his ETA to 12 months, up from 8-9.
