Meannwhile, lad with white puffa jacket has walked off with John's Noctilux...

In the second photo, it certainly looks like the situation could have gone two ways....:D

 

...on a serious point, it's a testemony to John's skill to not only see the rapport with the young people but also to notice the subtle change in position of the gaget bag during the interaction....;)

Something that may not be immediately obvious, because his camera is hidden, is that John was shooting from the hip in the second shot. Earlier in the day he had described to a couple of us his technique for focussing and controlling depth of field while shooting from the hip.

Great Photos Pete

I too was most impressed by John's street shooting and engagement. It's why I wanted to take him to that place. I always thought I was not too bad at engaging, until I met John. He really was an inspiration to Ripon and me.

Your shots capture the dynamics so well and are, in themeslves, wonderful
