Greywolf Posted August 26, 2011 Share #1 Posted August 26, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) My M9 is on it's way back to Solm to have it's sensor cleaned, but I have an M8 on loan. Can someone tell me if there is anywhere in the M8 menu structure that will tell me the state of the battery charge.

marknorton Posted August 29, 2011 Share #5 Posted August 29, 2011 My M9 is on it's way back to Solm to have it's sensor cleaned. Blimey. They will spend longer putting your invoice together than they will cleaning the sensor.

As you have seen Greywolf, you will never survive in the wilds of LUF until you have cleaned your first sensor Steve
lagrassa Posted August 31, 2011 Share #8 Posted August 31, 2011 I, too, was initially uneasy about tackling the sensor cleaning myself. It really is quite simple once you get over the notion that you are not going to damage something. Just work carefully and methodically.
Holybasil Posted August 31, 2011 Share #9 Posted August 31, 2011 I'm not even close to careful Wrap a thin microfiber cloth around a qtip. Clean where you can see specs and use either a rocket blower or compressed air(my choice) to get any specs you may have missed.
Greywolf Posted January 3, 2012 Author Share #10 Posted January 3, 2012 Ah well I did have a go my self, but when I found that the specks on my sensor didn't disappear but simply smeared across the surface I decided I was going to let someone else have a go. Obviously I have it back now as this is 3 months down the line but I have had no trouble since. From what I have read I suspect it was lubrication fluid. I thought it had happened again until I realized it was a thumb print on the rangefinder.
