Addy444 Posted August 19, 2011 Share #1 Â Posted August 19, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm relatively new to Leica cameras but quite "old" when it comes to photography in general -I used to do my own Black and White in the 1980's but as time has gone by I've moved over the years onto digital and medium format. Maybe its just me but I seem to constantly read about the obsession with pixels, and the latest "must have" camera in many forums on the internet. To me its the picture that counts -and the person who took that picture on whatever camera --often the best pictures (to me at least) seem to be taken on a variety of quite ancient cameras with low pixel counts. Going back even further some of the early Black and White photographs taken by the photographers of world war 2 are some of the best most memorable photographs I have ever seen -probably all taken on very basic and primitive cameras compared to cameras these days. There is much discussion about whether a camera is made by Leica or some-one else -or if its made in Germany or Japan -indeed I have read many comments on the internet how certain Leica cameras are not really Leica cameras at all and don't deserve to be called Leica as they are so inferior to the top of the range Leica's. Is this pure snobbery? Does the fact that I might have a top of the range Leica make me a better photographer (of course not) For a bit of light fun I have attached a picture taken by me on a Leica camera ( over the years I have had a few ) and I am offering a little prize (if the admin will allow me) for anyone who can guess the Leica camera I used for the picture. Â -----Anyway I think the picture is not bad straight out of the camera ( considering the V LUX 20 is thought by many not to be a true Leica ) Â Apologies for being so ignorant about photo data ! prunelle Posted August 23, 2011 Share #8 Â Posted August 23, 2011 How do you see the EXIF data? You must download the photo to your computer, either by saving it or by viewing it in your photo viewer, and take a look at the infos about the file. Â To answer another question, to strip a photo of its exif data, use the "save to the web" option in your photo editing software.
pauledell Posted August 23, 2011 Share #9 Â Posted August 23, 2011 Edward Weston once said that he didn't care if the picture was printed on a rubber mat as long as it was a fine print. I think the same applies with what camera is used. There is nothing wrong with that shot. Excellent colors and sharpness. Â Paul
