Anyone planning to go to Focus 2007?

I usually go for two days. Always Sunday and usually Tuesday.

This year, three of my key suppliers won't be there.

If you've not been before, be sure to get there as early as you can. Once. it took me 1+3/4 hours to get from the M'way to the first NEC roundabout. I turned around and went home.

The Caravan Show is usually on at the same time.

I was half thinking of this. I will give my full attention to it if forum friends are going. Andy, Nigel, Rolo, will you definitely be there? If so, where on earth is an infallible place to meet up, and what time would suit you? I live relatively close (compared to you guys), but would nevertheless travel there by train to avoid the traffic. As I understand it, the station is in the heart of the complex.

All the best,

Chris

I will have to check my social secretary's diary, but if I do come, it will most likely be by train, even if I just park up at a nearby station and go a couple of stops on the railway.

There's no way on earth that I am going to get ionvolved with a million caravanners... ;)

Ian, I will be there on Monday as well...............will I recognise you by your avatar??????

I have been to Focus quite a few times, but like most exhibitions in the UK, more and more manufacturers are relying on their dealers and distributors to promote their brands.

There is a lot to see though and bargains to be had if you want to try different papers, inks, profiles etc. Magazine subscriptions are usually cheaper too..........always agravates me as I would prefer to just renew on line, but 20% savings pay for the fuel and car park!

The s/h lens/camera vendors are usually there in force, together with dealers such as Robert White.

In summary Focus is a "must go" at least once and then perhaps every 3/4 years afterwards! Thats the way I see it anyway.

Wise move - to drive from Sussex to Birmingham on a Monday would be no fun at all. Even with your crash helmet on! :)

Is that you in your avatar?

Andy,

Yes that was me driving a Ralt RT31-Judd F2 engined F3 car in a round of the European Hill Climb Championship in 1999 at Chambon-sur Lac near Clermont Ferrand. That was my last season before the arthritis scuppered me - said hello to too many Armco barriers in single seaters over the previous 35 years!

I too am planning to go on Monday, is there a meet planned? We can't congregate at the Leica stand unfortunately

Or Robert White, I don't think they are there either, they are doing their own show later in Bournemouth I think. So not much rangefinder interest, I need to look at new scanners and a printer.

What about the tea bar opposite Q12 at 3.45?
