I generally like b&w shots of kelp but your third version in color is my favorite. I have found pictures of kelp when it is soaking wet from a rain that makes it glistening is most appealing. I've done Kelp shots before in the past and I'm always excited by how it intertwines and rolls over on the beach. Some of it looks like fruit. I used Color Efex Pro, tonal contrast filter on the third shot for the extra texture. It begins to look more like a painting when you use it.
