However, I have a backup drrve with images including Light room Catalog.Ircat file. When I bring up the catalog the images appear but the editing of the past several years is missing. How do I get the editing to be reconnected with the files? Doug

I see you resurrected a thread started by me four years ago. Life has moved on a lot since my early queries. So has Lightroom! But the requirement for regular backing up of source files and LR catalogues becomes even more important. I assume you have these backups somewhere. It sounds as if you have them If you have copies of the picture files, they should show up in your catalogue with a question mark in upper right corner. Click that '?' and read the dialogue which gives you the option to point LR to the location of your backup files. Once you have linked one thumbnail with the correct picture file in the backup location, all other files will be automatically linked. Then you are back in business! Good luck!
