Guytou Posted July 22, 2011 Share #1 Posted July 22, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, I ordered two batteries for LC1 (CGR-S602E) with tension 7.2 V and 1500 mAh at Subtel in Germany. I received the two batteries but the label mentions Li-ion 7.4 V - 1500 mAh - 11 Wh. Is that dangerous for my D2 and LC1 as well as the battery chargers ? Thank you with you. Advertisement Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Hi Guytou, Take a look here Battery LC1/D2. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
brucek Posted July 22, 2011 Share #2 Posted July 22, 2011 I wouldn't use them, but that is certainly your choice. I don't think they would have a problem with the chargers but I'd be concerned about the higher voltage possibly damaging the cameras.
Guytou Posted July 22, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted July 22, 2011 OK, thank you for your answer. I had an opinion of a technician who tells me that this difference of 0.2 V poses internal problem neither with the apparatus nor with the charger. They are batteries known as “compatible” but I fear to make an error and I do not know if I will preserve them.: Confused: Two batteries of Leica origin cost 150 €… Guy
farnz Posted July 22, 2011 Share #4 Posted July 22, 2011 Guy, As an Engineer who has designed dc power supply systems, 0.2 Volts will not be a problem. The stated voltage on a 7.4 Volt battery is subject to precision error that is larger than the 0.2 Volt difference you're concerned about. Pete. Guytou Posted July 22, 2011 Author Share #5 Posted July 22, 2011 Thank you for your answer Farnz. But the problem is solved : I returned the two adaptable batteries for refunding and I ordered two batteries of origin D2/LC1 at Leica (120 € TTC with send understood.) This time the tariffs of the Panasonic models were more expensive and the batteries much more complicated to obtain. caver3d Posted July 24, 2011 Share #8 Posted July 24, 2011 You can get the appropriate replacement third party batteries for the LC1 and D2 on ebay. They work just fine and cost much less. - Chuck
Guytou Posted July 24, 2011 Author Share #9 Posted July 24, 2011 OK, thanks. My purchase is made and my two new batteries of origin will be there very soon. Guy
Paul Reading Posted July 24, 2011 Share #10 Posted July 24, 2011 I bought a third party battery and it is useless it does not hold a charge sometimes I turn on the camera and it is dead. The last "Original" battery has lasted how long 5 years is it since the Digilux 2 was launched so 15 euros a year. It still grates but I know it will not cause problems. I already had also this same problem with batteries known as “compatible” which did not keep the load well. Therefore I have just bought two batteries of origin. The low-costs return sometimes much expensive… Guy
ajthornbury Posted July 24, 2011 Share #12 Posted July 24, 2011 I use hahnel batteries type HL-DC3/LC1 with no problems on my D2. Charge appears to last as long as the original bleica batteries.

Guytou Posted July 24, 2011 Author Share #14 Posted July 24, 2011 I think that all the batteries known as “compatible” are not equal quality. It is like a lottery and this problem does not seem to exist with the models of origin. Guy
