hm1912 Posted February 9, 2007 Share #1 Posted February 9, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I know I'm not around much anymore -- but I do try to make an effort to see the excellent photos that are posted. And I just couldn't resist to post a few I took yesterday as the Welsh coast experienced some snow. And please feel free to laugh at the light dusting of snow in the department's parking lot which was the cause of the department being shut for the day. I hope you're all doing well! Enjoy. Advertisement Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Hi hm1912, Take a look here Snow in Aberystwyth. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jmr Posted February 9, 2007 Share #2 Posted February 9, 2007 Ilan, nice to see you posting again - and to see that they're not working you too hard.
stuny Posted February 9, 2007 Share #3 Posted February 9, 2007 Ilan - We really don't see enough of you. Your studies are going well? How's your dissertation progressing? There must be so little snow in coastal Wales that local drivers fall off the road when they try to drive in this dusting -- Very amusing parking lot. My favorite is the first for its picture elements and composition. I think it could probably benefit from being "punched up" a bit. I might have a chance to try that tomorrow morning. hm1912 Posted February 10, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted February 10, 2007 Thanks JR, and thank you Stuart. The UK is in general incapable of dealing with any changes in the weather. If it snows, the country shuts down. If it gets too hot, the trains get cancelled because the tracks expand and warp in the heat. If it gets too windy, the trains get cancelled because of leaves on the tracks. If there is too much rain or any kind of storm, the entire national infrastructure collapses. It is really both a joke and rather concerning. Alas, I find that when I'm done working, I'm not always eager to get in front of my computer again which is in part why I'm not on the forum as often as I'd like. But I'm going to try to check in once a week. My studies are going as well as is to be expected. I'm hoping to have a completed rough draft of the thesis within a few months. Hopefully, I can sort out a date when I will be able to submit because it is almost impossible to get a job interview without submitting. Thank again guys! robert_parker Posted February 11, 2007 Share #6 Posted February 11, 2007 IIan Really like #1 and #4 for composition and the light - Stuart I actually prefer IIan's version - the light looks a lot more like Aberystwyth in a snowstorm to me !!
fotofr Posted February 11, 2007 Share #7 Posted February 11, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Ilan, Pretty images. I prefer the composition and the tones of the #1.
