EDIT: SWMBO would actually be very happy to have one - if only for its rarity. PM if available.

Good Lord, please tell me that it is a Photoshop fake.

It is almost as ugly as that Porsche titanium pixel burner.

Regards to all on the Forum

I can never unsee. . . .

But, in terms of Stealth--a.k.a., somebody sees it and then ignores it--that's absolutely perfect.

Hi JeTexas,

I am German, so I contacted that insurance company in Germany. But I think it is an international (Swiss) company. I did not find info in English:

Willkommen bei der fairsicherungsberatung

Fairsicherung - Verbund der Fairsicherungsläden - Home

Not sure about their service, in case sth. happens. I hope I will not have to find out, but rates seemed to be ok. I also did not compare companies. I just looked for recommendations within this forum, and I picked that one. Maybe someone here has a experience with another (English) insurance company??

Anyone?

Falk

What insurance did you use. I'm leaving for Rio Saturday and was trying to get some through State Farm, but I struck out. My agent said to try ppa.com, but I'm not a member there.

I tape my M8 and also taped a Canon 5D on all corners and logos. Surprisingly when I stripped off all the gaffers on the 5D to sell, it was scratch free and required very little in the way of gook removal. I am of the belief that it helps prevent some of the hard knocks I've put them through.

Troll?

Do you keep plastic over your furniture as well?

ok in a warzone tape up reflecting surfaces...but covering your logo or choosing black over chrome for 'street photography'...LOL..LOL

I seldom have people comment on any camera I might be using. Typically, I carry the camera strap over one shoulder so that the camera is between my side and my elbow, so it's not really easy to see what it is except when actively using it. A long lens or lens hood does draw more attention though.

The last comment was when snapping a young lady smoking in the alley behind her employer's business, and she asked if it was a film camera. It was an M8. I also recall a gent staring hard at my Fuji GS645S in Honolulu, probably wondering what that 'roo-bar thing was on the lens. :)

When I use my M8 they usually look at me with a tender smile, sort of "look at grandpa taking picture with his war-surplus camera". Someone even laugh :D
