Great review, thanks for posting it, and I enjoyed reading it.

 

As a fellow owner of a D2, I can only agree with your handling comments - it is just a great little camera.

A stroke of pure luck, still can't believe it happened.

 

So checking out various sites for another D2 of which I'm interested in buying, I happened to leave up my browser with an ebay search for a D2 earlier today on my desktop. Only one was showing earlier today, it is not in the condition I am interested in. Several hours later, I decided to refresh the page and by chance hope that another D2 popped up on Ebay today.

 

A cold chance in hell, right? Yeah I was dreaming.

 

However, another did come up that was just listed after I checked the first time today. This one, is near mint, original box, and the Leica Macro lens comes with it too. Box and camera are perfect, original owner, got it for 1K even, USD.

 

I could hardly believe it.

 

I've passed up several R-D1's for near that price in the past, with no regrets. I can't even believe that I got that lucky!

 

Looks like I'll need to ebay a few items now to make up this purchase.
