MrEd Posted February 8, 2007 Share #2 Posted February 8, 2007 Hi Steve, The first frame is VERY good. Enjoy your new camera. Thanks for sharing. Ed. .
arthury Posted February 8, 2007 Share #3 Posted February 8, 2007 I can see that you are really overjoyed in the #2. Keep it up! And don't forget to show us your images. Your images are really crisp. Did you use SmartSharpen or USM in PS/CS2 or C1 or something else?
stevem7 Posted February 8, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted February 8, 2007 These were all shot JPEG. I have not even tried RAW yet. I just opened in PS, resized and applied light smartsharpen. The M8 is great but indoor in low light the AWB gets a bit crazy. So far, I really like it. It's growing on me more and more.
stuny Posted February 8, 2007 Share #5 Posted February 8, 2007 Steve - Congratulations on your M8. #1 is superb for its mystery (Why is the boy standing like that and why is he looking up), the full tonal range, the light, the contrast, and the details. #2 is most amusing, combining self portrait, glee at having the new toy, and just a hint of Nosferatu getting ready to snack. arthury Posted February 8, 2007 Share #6 Posted February 8, 2007 The last one (with the boy at the side of the street) looked so 1960's (in California due to the palm trees in the BG) and even has the Kodachrome feel (without the grain). That's a really cool effect.
lammaken Posted February 8, 2007 Share #7 Posted February 8, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Steve, congrats!! I can tell you are absolutely overjoy by the new toy, I really like your self-portrait, your facial expreesion, the tone and everthing in there, simply great. Anyways, how's your project on homeless people so far? its done? Thanks.
robert_parker Posted February 8, 2007 Share #8 Posted February 8, 2007 Enjoyable photos - the 'Nosferatu' one works for me, too !!
amorteguy Posted February 9, 2007 Share #9 Posted February 9, 2007 When I saw the self portrait, one thing came to mind: Nosferatu takes up photography. I really like what I've seen from M8 posts thus far. Nice images.
johnwolf Posted February 9, 2007 Share #10 Posted February 9, 2007 Steve, You and your M8 have equally excellent teeth. John
Guest chriisi Posted February 9, 2007 Share #11 Posted February 9, 2007 sorry, but where is the difference between a photo from a m8 to a photo from another camera, for example m6.. i don't get this by now. and do i have to write the camera-model into the thread-title? i'm quite confused. stevem7 Posted February 9, 2007 Author Share #12 Posted February 9, 2007 No of course i don't have to write the camera model in the title, but before I bought the M8 I was looking for as many samploes as I could find, and figured others may also be looking for M8 samples as they are still very few in comparison to other camera models. This gave it an easy way for someone looking for M8 samples to click and take a look. Why would you take offense to that? Thanks for all of the comments! abrewer Posted February 9, 2007 Share #13 Posted February 9, 2007 ... do i have to write the camera-model into the thread-title? i'm quite confused. Hi Chris. You don't have to, but it's been a custom in the Photo Forum to list the equipment, the film and even aperture/speed (if you can) in the post itself for as long as I can remember. It's just another one of those little curiosities that makes the place different than some others. Nice shots, BTW, Steve. It's good to see some images from that camera starting to appear over here where they belong. It kind of says to me that the hoopla is dying down and things are getting back to (what passes for) normal again. Thanks. Allan
