I would have never thought to look if you had not mentioned it.

I suppose this speaks volumes.

Hi Scrubs,

Thanks. And I didn't think of checking it out.

I really like the collaborative aspects of what we are trying to do.

When collaborations reach a critical amount of brain power, then the result is more than the sum of the parts.

I wish more forum members would actively join our effort.

Yes, indeed it speaks volumes.

Best, K-H.

However, if one reads that site beyond the members list, it transpires that it is not membership that gives full access to the SD technology but a license agreement, so the membership as such has no technological meaning at all.

WOW!

That's impressive detective work.

Congratulations.

Again, what does Jenoptik do for Leica?

NUTS!

Cheers, K-H.

IIRC, they wrote the M8 firmware for most of its life, but have had no role in the M9 firmware. 'splain me that... :);) If that data proved anything, the M8 would have problems and the M9 would be perfect.

Not sure where you heard that but Jenoptik wrote the firmware for the M9

unless you know something Stephan Daniel does not? :);)

Hi Scrubs,

Thanks for the pointer. I'll be darn.

Of course, I had listened to this tape before, but I will have to do it again in its entirety to refresh my mind.

Many statements seem to be made on this forum without referencing the source of that information.

That's unfortunate as it can create FUD. Basically statements made in error are like smoke and mirrors.

I am glad you tracked down and pointed to this very important source, so relevant to our discussion.

Thanks again.

With best regards, K-H.

You're welcome. To be honest, I am giving up trying to prove anything to anyone in this thread

anymore, it is futile and a complete waste of energy. I'll leave them to drink the Kool-Aid.

Luckily, there is a few 'positive' minded people in here, eager to get the problem resolved.

and if it takes a slow, systematical approach to shed some light on the problem or possibly not,

it sure beats having to expend energy retorting to the constant negative quips.

Hi Scrubs,

I agree. So, we pretty much know who we want to collaborate with.

If we miss(ed) somebody, (s)he just has to let us know and is welcome to join.

Best, K-H.

BTW: this is the M9 forum, so all the problem incidents are reported for this model. However, the M8 has SDHC card issues which look quite similar to some described here. I don't know if that's been taken into account so far.
