SJP Posted July 5, 2011 Share #21 Posted July 5, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've now switched to dd/mm/yyyy. My favourite solution would be a customisable date format but I didn't find a plugin for that Andreas Thanks! Although now we do not comply with ISO 8601 Sooner or later we will all be bigendian;)
Advertisement Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Hi SJP, Take a look here Date format.... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted July 5, 2011 Share #22 Posted July 5, 2011 That's a suitable format for naming computer files etc, but not very user friendly when it comes to the date format in normal life.
stuny Posted July 5, 2011 Share #23 Posted July 5, 2011 One of the very first times the concept of usability was employed was in selecting 6/6/1944 as D-Day. That way the Yanks and Brits all showed up at the same time. For several years I've been giving my age in Celsius since the number is much lower. Michael Geschlecht Posted July 8, 2011 Share #26 Posted July 8, 2011 Hello Andreas, Thank you for switching back to DD/MM/YYYY. Even for many people in the USofA it works better. Best Regards, Michael BTW: D Day was 6 VI 44. No one was confused. British, French, Canadian, American or anyone else.

Yes, but then some blokes got utterly confused when confronted with 6-XXVIII-44.
Michael Geschlecht Posted July 9, 2011 Share #28 Posted July 9, 2011 Hello Philipp, That's why I said even some people from the USofA prefer DD/MM/YYYY - 28 VI 44. Best Regards, Michael
