Portable Storage Devices (HDD PSDs) with Memory Card support  Are you also considering a Sensor cleaning kit ?  Now that I have a D3/L1 I'm considering some type of 'dust-free and static-free bag' to perform lens swapping. Taking the M8 and my Canon 30D. But I expect to do the vast majority of my photography with the Leica. I'm giving serious thought now to picking up an R-D1 as a backup body. I wish the charger had a cycling program, as some do. Of all the bits and pieces of the Leica system, this charger is probably the worst; it looks like it came with a $10 coffee-maker. My dealer (Tony Rose) offered to swap it out for one he had in the store and I happily accepted. I also just ordered a second charger just to be safe. You have only one copy. So you need two devices, not one. If you don't erase the card, then one device is OK. The back up camera is going to be your only peace of mind - years also my Rollei 6008 with a 250mm lens was on my tripod in Wales when a gust of wind blew it over. I lugged a lot of dead weight around for the rest of the trip, but I had an auxiliary 35mm camera with me - I can’t remember now if it was a little Contax or a Rollei 35, but whatever, it saved the day. If you are firmly in the digital camp now, I wonder if it might be easier to process and post files from a small digital camera than from scanned film?  I had no idea there was a Leica dealer in Ashburn, VA. I remember that place when it was really rural with only one small general store. We knew a family who moved out there, and it was a considerable trek to get there from McLean.
