Has anyone tried shooting with the Skopar 25mm and the M9.

After looking at several shots taken with my old Leica II D and the 25mm I'm thinking on trying it with the M9 with adapter, Just love the color this lens produces, or was it the Kodak Ektar 100?

Hank, beautiful, smooth colors. I assume it's the Snapshot, right? I just got one as an experiment and use it with an M9. Experiment, because I don't usually shoot this wide. It's not rangefinder coupled, but I use it with an external finder and zone focusing. I'm amazed how little distortion there is. I think it's definitely worth getting an adapter.

I have the 25/4P, which is rangefinder coupled, but I believe it has the same optical design. The lens does have a red edge on the left, but it is not too bad under most circumstances, especially when you select a lens like the 24/2.8 in the M9's menu.

Those Ektar shots are gorgeous. The M9 won't produce colour exactly like that, not without some tweaking. I find that the Zeiss 25/2.8 is sharper at f4 than the 25/4P, but that is to be expected. The Skopar is a really nice, compact lens that can quite easily work on the M9 as a daytime lens.

Gentleman, that you for your input good info, will differently get an adapter for the M9. Yes I'm afraid the color that I use to get with Kodak Ektar was terrific. Will have to occasionally start using my film leica again.

Best regards
