Hi everyone! I know there are already so many threads of the same subject before here in this forum. But I thought it wouldn't hurt to let others know and to share how happy I am with Luigi's case (for my M9) that I've finally received today :). The colour, the quality, the fitting and (most of all) the craftmanship are outstanding. So I would like to tell others who are thinking of ordering from him of not hesitating to do so. It might takes longer to make, but I can assure you... it's really worth the wait :).

Cheers,

Aurea

When my M9 was brand new a couple of months back, I emailed Luigi, saying I'd like to buy a full case and asking how I should go about specifying and paying for it.

After a couple of weeks and no reply, I tried again, checking the address on Luigi's site.

Still no reply.

So, I'm very envious of your ability to get a response, let alone a case. Enjoy!

That's good news, Aurea. You made a good choice. Luigi's work is very fine.

Hi Robert! Yes, Luigi's case is absolutely wonderful. It's really worth the wait (a little over 1 month) and the "trouble" of writing emails back & forth :D. And also contrary to what many people say or think about the full case, I really find it useful and I don't find it troublesome using it :). Thanks again for helping me out with this decision.

Here's a photo of my half case.

Best regards,

Aurea

Hi Peter!

It took about 3 weeks & quite a number of emails back & forth between me, Luigi's assistant (Ginevra) and Luigi himself to finalise my order. Then another 4,5 weeks to finally receive the full case in my hand. He was always very kind and helpful. He did tell me that he is busier than ever and swamped by orders from all over the world. If he wrote before on his website that it took 20 days to make the case... now he needs at least 1 month to do it. I know it seems like a very long time just to order a camera case, but it's worth the wait in my opinion (perseverance & patience do pay off) :). Maybe you could try and email him again (or email Ginevra, his daughter/assistant) after August (as in Italy, August is holiday period and Luigi for sure will take a break as well) and see what happens. Good luck!

Cheers,

Aurea

I am not sure what you mean by this.... but I have read many of your posts here in this forum...I don't know how old you are... (you could be in your 20's or maybe in your 40's.... or even in your 60's) and of course, I don't know who you are.... but I think you are quite a sad person. Thanks for wasting your time to respond to my OP though.

Best regards,

Aurea

Hi Rea, I have a black half case for my M9 and a aged brown for my M6 and agree about the quality. I have been thinking of getting the full case - can you post some pictures of yours? Cheers, Tony

Hi Tony! Here are the photos of my case with the lens cover. I asked Luigi to make the lens cover to specially accomodate my Lux 50 (around 60cm). He can also make it shorter or longer (I think max. is 80cm).

The Luigi full case does indeed look like a handsome item, and I was thinking of getting one. But I have noticed that the rear flap of the top/front section attaches to the rear of the case by means of two press studs located on either side of the lower edge of the LCD screen cutout and just at the joint where the camera body starts to curve.

On the old Leitz-era cases, the fittings on the rear surface to the case were female (the socket), while the rear flap of the case was fitted with the male fitting (the protruding part). Luigi does it the other way around, so there will be a protruding piece of metal just at the point where the user's right thumb will be positioned. I would have thought that this would make the cased camera uncomfortable to hold. Can any users comment on how it works in practice?

Best regards,

Doug
