maccaco Posted June 18, 2011 Share #1 Posted June 18, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I use a cover for my M8 and each time I need to use a tripod I need to remove it, and it is quite annoying. I've thought of a tripod with a clamp and I found the "Kestrel Weather Meter Tripod Clamp" I could use my tripod. Do you know of any other similar option? Advertisement Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Hi maccaco, Take a look here Tripos clamp and M8 with cover, possible?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wda Posted June 18, 2011 Share #2 Posted June 18, 2011 I am not sure what cover you use; but the neoprene case peels off easily and is quickly attached to a tripod.
maccaco Posted June 18, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted June 18, 2011 The cover is leather and has no rear hole to screw the tripod screw, and I would not mess it (they are expensive covers)
mmradman Posted June 18, 2011 Share #4 Posted June 18, 2011 Do yourself a favour; when using tripod remove protective case and use decent plate/tripod head, maybe Leica own ball head. That Kestrel clamp is a joke for any decent camera.

If you are absolutely right, but I'm lazy when I want to shoot a few photos at low speed ... end finish removing the cover, I know
farnz Posted June 18, 2011 Share #6 Posted June 18, 2011 How much shock will your cover absorb when your camera hits the ground? Pete.

AncientCityPhoto Posted June 23, 2011 Share #8 Posted June 23, 2011 You could get a Luigi case with a tripod thread on the bottom. Then attach a basic Really Right Stuff or Wemberly camera plate to the bottom. You can then keep the case on and easily quick release onto most ball heads from Kirk, RRS, etc...
