Advertisement Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 Hi MotherPanda, Take a look here What's the difference between C-Lux, D-Lux & V-Lux. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted June 11, 2011 Share #2 Posted June 11, 2011 The C-lux line was good quality, small, point and shoot cameras. The D-Lux line generally has a better sensor and lens than the C-Lux (though less of a zoom range), can produce RAW files and can be operated manually. Neither C-Lux nor D-Lux have viewfinders. The V-Lux consists of compact cameras that appear to be compact DSLRs, have very large range zoom lenses, and have electronic viewfinders instead of optical viewfinders found on DSLRs. All are capable of producing terrific photos, and all of them had or have Panasonic equivalent models. Of course you shouild not confuse D-Lux with Digilux. wda Posted June 11, 2011 Share #4 Posted June 11, 2011 I have got C-Lux 3 and D-Lux 5 but in fact, I don't know the difference between C-Lux, D-Lux and V-Lux. Does anyone can tell me some more information of these camera? Thank you so much! Patricia, Welcome to the Leica Forum! If you look at the mode selection dial on the D-Lux 5 you will see a greater range of settings. The camera is much more versatile and is preferred by photographers who like to exercise some level of control over their photography. I am not familiar with the V-Lux range but believe they are also more versatile and bigger than the C-Lux. The C-Lux is a fine little camera and scores on its diminutive size and excellent lens. If you bought your cameras new, it is worth re-reading the instruction manuals because it is surprising how many features never get discovered by owners who just want a simple 'point and shoot' camera. I am experienced, but still delve into my instruction manual, from time to time. Have your cameras in hand while exploring the many features. Few photographers need or use every feature built into the more advanced cameras. But you have an advantage if you know what resources are available to you. MotherPanda Posted June 13, 2011 Author Share #5 Posted June 13, 2011 Thank you for all the response and you all gave a lot of information of the Lux camera. For a new user, it's very useful. I bought the D-Lux 5 for my travelling to Switzerland in end of May. The salesman already told that it has not got a large zoom but very good lens. I tried to take a photo of the sunflowers in Murren. The picture is very beautiful:)
