JATA Posted June 7, 2011 Share #1 Posted June 7, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, I have recently acquired the above camera from a friend. It's only had a couple of rolls through it from new and has been stored away for most of it's life. Unfortunately because of this ( I think ) it has zinc bubbling on the back door and a patch near the film advance lever. What I would like to know is how collectable this camera is. I currently shoot with an M9 for my digital output and need two film camera's on the go as I prefer this medium. I have another M6 ttl which my 28 cron lives on and need another for my 50. Long story short, if I keep the camera I will use it, bash it about and it will lose it's newness. So I'm thinking sell it to someone who interested in this sort of thing and buy another "normal" M6ttl and spend the difference on film. Any idea what the are worth? Thanks in advance. The bubbling marks it out as a 'user' so you may as well use it in that capacity. Incidentally, are you sure it is zinc bubbling? I don't think the last 999 M6 run carries much of a premium price. I seem to recall seeing one advertised recently by a UK dealer and it seemed to be a couple of hundred pounds over what one might expect. Exposed Zine will tend to 'disappear', when the chrome or paint eventually flakes off. My M6 back door and topplate have gone spooty the baseplate is perfect. Or (/and) maybe get some true collectibles? Oh, this is the film forum?! Please don't flame, guys! Do I have two M9s? No. Will I buy a second one? Not likely, because tri stands for 28-35-50. But this has nothing to do with your decision to work with 2 cameras. For reference: Chris Tribble and viramati and ... many others. While Rolo has a M9 and a MP. So maybe think for yourself what is best and avoid super complications, recomplications or anything, that keeps you from shooting.
