tappan Posted May 31, 2011 Share #1 Â Posted May 31, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) My brand new M9's "skin" is peeling. Can anyone tell me if they have experienced the same thing and how they are going to proceed. Full disclosure: I wrote about this one month ago when I got the camera. A very nice gentleman suggested that I apply glue very carefully underneath. I am quite nervous about doing this to my almost $7,000.00 camera, and I am guessing that if I send it to Leica thay might have the camera for at least one month, and that's not good. Thanks in advance

jaapv Posted May 31, 2011 Share #2 Â Posted May 31, 2011 It is a new one to me, although there were a few complaints on the X1 forum. As this is a ten minute "repair" I very much doubt that your camera would take more than a week turnaround, especially if you call ahead. I see that you are not too far from Leica NJ. It may well be that you can arrange a "fixt-it-whilst-you-wait" appointment.

PBatemanJ Posted May 31, 2011 Share #4 Â Posted May 31, 2011 If I were you, I would simply use glue and fix by myself. It should not be difficult. SATOKI

menos I M6 Posted June 1, 2011 Share #11 Â Posted June 1, 2011 With my car, 440 miles is just half a tank - and Diesel... Â This? Â "M49C Fuel Tanker, CLEANED and PAINTED, Turbo diesel engine, all wheel drive, 1200 gallon capacity, Excellent condition, Government rebuild, LOW Mileage" Â I have the typical peeling edge (just next to the "set" button) on my M8.2 since I bought it second hand. It didn't get worse over my use, so I don't bother. If it would, a self repair surely would be fine with the correct glue.
zlatkob Posted June 1, 2011 Share #12 Â Posted June 1, 2011 Burn a tank full of gasoline for a peeling leatherette ? Â No, buy a Diesel car (or fuel tanker truck) for a peeling leatherette! And spend a day driving it.
