Gibbo Posted May 30, 2011 Share #1 Posted May 30, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Well, yes, it is My M2 lives quite happily in its original green leather Leica case and I have no intention of changing it. However, the strap for the case, which is also leather, is cracking with age and I would like to replace it before it finally gives up the ghost and snaps. It's bound to happen at the most inappropriate moment and cause the most unwanted damge to the case and, possibly, its contents I have tried to search Google for someone who might be able to provide a replacement and, so far, have had no joy. Does anyone here know where I might be able to source a new strap?

IkarusJohn Posted May 31, 2011 Share #2 Posted May 31, 2011 You could try Luigi at Leicatime. He's not cheap, but he does a great job. Cheers John
ezc203 Posted May 31, 2011 Share #3 Posted May 31, 2011 +1 for Luigi. Not cheap, but does great work. I don't use his half-case when shooting anymore (prefer to be naked) but his straps are the best I've tried (including a variety of A+A* straps, Leica standard, etc)

earleygallery Posted June 2, 2011 Share #10 Posted June 2, 2011 Never seen one of those before! As others have suggested, I'm sure Luigi could make a strap to fit (buckles intead of rivets this time). Maybe cut the old one off and send to him as a pattern. Gibbo Posted June 2, 2011 Author Share #11 Posted June 2, 2011 I think it is remarkably the same as this one Leica Leitz iii vintage leather camera case | eBay UK
Jimothy Posted June 2, 2011 Share #12 Posted June 2, 2011 Or you could try a local saddlery. Would probably be much quicker and cheaper. I had a pair of motorcycle boots that required a repair that local cobblers said cou;dn't be done. My local saddler is a classic bike enthusiast and did it for me double quick.
