Interesting picture, very well executed.

 

The railroad bridge mechanism at the right is rather mysterious, and the offset tower is quite odd...

Thank you for your comments. You got me wondering about the counterweight so I did some research:

I have noticed that when the bridge is down, awaiting rail traffic, the locks come to a standstill as neither incoming or outgoing boat traffic with a mast of a certain height has enough clearance to make it safely under the bridge.

 

The bridge is really quite busy with daily freight & passenger trains and commuter trains during the week.

 

Not to mention it's a fantastic structure and how it frames the waterway.
