tweeoog Posted May 26, 2011 Share #1 Â Posted May 26, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have started to use the R6 which once belonged to my father. I really like the look and feel of the camera! Butt I noticed that I have to push the shutter release very far down before the shutter releases, quite a diference compared to my R3. The first time I tried the shutter release of the R6 I thougt I hadn't winded the film! Can anyone tell me if this is normal for a R6? Â Thanks for your help!! Â "Butt I noticed that I have to push the shutter release very far down before the shutter releases,.....Can anyone tell me if this is normal for a R6?" Â Yes this is quite normal for a R6 camera... not everyone likes that:cool: It is the technical concept of this mechanical type of camera that works in this way... The Leicaflex needs a little push to release the shutter like the M camera.
earleygallery Posted May 27, 2011 Share #3 Â Posted May 27, 2011 I have an R3 and I was surprised at the feel of the shutter on later models, so yes it's quite normal.
thrid Posted May 28, 2011 Share #4 Â Posted May 28, 2011 I have an R6.2 and unfortunately the very long travel on the shutter release is normal. I really don't know what Leica was thinking when they designed it that way, because otherwise the R6/6.2 are great cameras. Â I talked to DAG about shortening the release and there is only so much that can be done, with no real solution to the problem.
