earleygallery Posted May 19, 2011 Share #1 Posted May 19, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm thinking of taking a screwdriver to my Panaleica Clux2 equivalent, there's dust on the sensor and I don't really use it anymore apart from the odd shot for ebay or whatever, because of the dust. If I can get inside to the sensor (which will be attached to the rear of the lens unit) I can hopefully clean it. Before I do it, is there anything I should be aware of? What about the need for taking precautions against static?
Advertisement Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Hi earleygallery, Take a look here Clux - take it apart?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wda Posted May 19, 2011 Share #2 Posted May 19, 2011 James, needless to say, ideally you need a dust-free environment or your good work will be negated!
JeTexas Posted July 29, 2011 Share #3 Posted July 29, 2011 How did it turn out?
farnz Posted July 29, 2011 Share #4 Posted July 29, 2011 Remember that your big, heavy club hammer should've been sharpened professionally before you start. Best of luck, and it'd probably be a good idea to buy a cheapo anti-static strap from the bay or Maplins and clip it onto your cold tap. (Make sure you've got metal plumbing though because the fashion is to replace copper water pipes with plastic ones.) Pete.
earleygallery Posted August 1, 2011 Author Share #5 Posted August 1, 2011 See my new thread - I got stuck in and it was pretty simple. I didn't bother with anti static straps and just used a blower brush to clear the dust. But I've just picked up two parcels which should be a couple of Minox 35's, the better one will take the place of the clux now!
