Leica_willy Posted May 20, 2011 Share #3 Posted May 20, 2011 I placed an order for a recovering kit for my Leica M8 on March 26. On April 28 I sent an E-mail to Morgan. I never got any response from him. So; I too would very much appreciate any help or advice.
PBatemanJ Posted May 21, 2011 Share #4 Posted May 21, 2011 I would not be surprised that he does not replay any E-mail, slow delivery. There are several threads in the past. I too had frustration when I ordered one for M8. I do not remember exactly, probably wait for 2 month. He has been doing really good job for us so just wait and you will be fine. Though 6 month is really long.. SATOKI
cbretteville Posted May 21, 2011 Share #5 Posted May 21, 2011 It varies a lot with Morgan. This is a recurring topic here in LUF. I've had the several months wait, I've also had him send two kits on separate occasions to DAG in connection with CLAs and those arrived very promptly. I last ordered a kit for my CM in February and I had it after less than a week fully expecting to take ages. I was pleasantly surprised. Carl
AGeoJO Posted May 21, 2011 Share #6 Posted May 21, 2011 I ordered something recently and 6-7 business days later I still didn't get any confirmation of my order, let alone the order itself. I sent an email and I got a response from Morgan 2 days later, saying that it would be shipped shortly. I received my order 5 days later. In total from order date until delivery, figure at least 2-3 weeks. Mine was apparently in stock.
ezc203 Posted May 22, 2011 Share #7 Posted May 22, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) In general I find these sites to have similar behavioral patterns. Much like Luigi, experiences with Morgan is varied. I've ordered kits in the past with shockingly prompt replies from Morgan and then shipped just as quickly. And then I tried contacting him a second time for my "new" MP and nothing. Bugged him for 3 weeks and couldn't finalize anything. Shame.
Robert J Posted May 22, 2011 Share #8 Posted May 22, 2011 I've ordered from him 4 times and each shipment took about a month to arrive.
M. Valdemar Posted May 22, 2011 Share #9 Posted May 22, 2011 I had Steve Serota repair a Leotax for me, and he ordered new leather for it from Camera Leather. This was over three years ago. Since then, poor Steve Serota has died, and no longer is concerned about waiting for the leather, which still has not arrived.

I whish! CLAs at DAG take Weeks and weeks. The kit I had in less than a week was a Black Levant recovering kit for my Leica CM that I ordered from Morgan. KarlG Posted May 23, 2011 Share #15 Posted May 23, 2011 Another Cameraleather customer waiting for a response here. I placed an order on 11 April, sent a follow-up email on 7 May and haven't received a response from him at all. Very disappointing that a business can operate this way. While all of the comments online are that he is very honest and always gets around to sending the kit eventually, it is pretty poor form that he continues to operate at this rate - if he is getting enough business that he cannot serve his customer base, he should hire an assistant. KarlG Posted May 24, 2011 Share #17 Posted May 24, 2011 You mean the Aki-Asahi store? I couldn't figure out whether they were still in business, as I've seen a number of posts regarding them closing down & reopening, but nothing definitive about their current status. Yes they are working, but if you want some real fancy skin Morgon is your only choose,He is a real artist. But if you just want a new skin to cover, Don't care about how fancy it is. You can get it from aki-asahi,it's cheap and fast.
