AGeoJO Posted May 18, 2011 Share #82 Posted May 18, 2011 I have had it since December 2009 (17 months) and it has worked flawlessly ever since after Leica in New Jersey recalibrated the rangefinder on a brand new camera straight out of the box. Including the overnight transit back and forth, the camera was back in my hands in 3 days.

Rolo Posted May 18, 2011 Share #88 Posted May 18, 2011 I WOULD STILL APPRECIATE ANY M9 OWNERS WHO HAVE NOT PARTICIPATED TO PLEASE CONTRIBUTE TO THE POLL. We are ALL aware of it's limitations but realistically we are unlikely to get any other information on which to base our discussions. My December 2009 M9: 3 returns to Solms Service Dept and then a replacement at 9 months old. bill, Add to Facts: - Amazing that members who have zero experience of the M9 have so much to say ! Rolo Posted May 18, 2011 Share #93 Posted May 18, 2011 Not specifically a Reliability post. New M9 went back to Solms to calibrate all my lenses in January. That was expected and I'm not unhappy about it. Similarly, I recently bought a wobbly Summicron Ver IV off ebay, that needs a repair, no issue for me, but .... the M9 needed to go back with it for 'perfect' calibration, which I want of course. It left on Monday and I await the cost quote for the lens and calibration and then it's return. That's five visits to the factory in 16 months. GMB Posted May 18, 2011 Share #97 Posted May 18, 2011 + 16 months did send to Solms with critical lenses for RF alignment and calibration though, but more out of precaution rather than because there was a big issue. Love that camera. BTW, other than RF alignment also never had an issue with M8 and M8.
