Rivergull Posted May 15, 2011 Share #1 Posted May 15, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I recently purchased the D-Lux 5 and I'm really going to be upset if the LCD gets scratched. I like to use the neck strap and that means the LCD will be rubbing against my chest and possibly a button or two. What is the best way to protect the screen. Are the hard glass add-on protectors the best bet? and if so, which ones fit the D-Lux 5 the best?

Washington Posted May 15, 2011 Share #2 Posted May 15, 2011 I have used the Giotto Schott Glass protectors on all my cameras for a long time and have found them to be just plain excellent!

macjim Posted May 15, 2011 Share #5 Posted May 15, 2011 I bought a PDA screen protector pack from Jessops for £5 and it just fine. It's a pack of 2 and just needs cutting to size. Cheers, Macjim.
MarkP Posted May 15, 2011 Share #6 Posted May 15, 2011 I had previously used, and liked, cut-down iPod screen protectors for my D-Lux 4, which were efficient & cheap. Also they didn't show the fingerprints (or nose-prints with my external viewfinder). However the screen image contrast & detail were much better with the Giottos. macjim Posted May 15, 2011 Share #7 Posted May 15, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) How are the Giotto protectors with condensation — do you not get some condensation between the display and the Giotto during the colder days?
MarkP Posted May 15, 2011 Share #8 Posted May 15, 2011 Never. Used one in Europe this cold winter on the back of my M9, no condensation issues going inside & outside, or used in the rain and snow. The adhesive creates a complete seal. BTW, it is easy to remove if you need to do so. Mark
likealeica Posted May 22, 2011 Share #9 Posted May 22, 2011 Which Giotto model is correct for the DLux5? Couldn't seem to find that on the Giotto website. Also, are they easy to apply? Watching the BestBuy kid apply the Zagg film screen protector to my IPad, I would have wound up throwing the screen protector and the IPad through a window. Seems like the tape arrangement would simply be align and press. Yes?
