Digilux 2 / Memory card error

I got hold of a Digilux 2 recently, but something's up with the memory cards, I think.

 

I put in a Sandisk ultra 2 gig card (new), and all I get is a "memory card full" message, or "memory card error". I formatted one of the cards (I have two) in-camera, but got the same result.

 

It's a regular SD, not a Super-Mega-Whatever SD.

 

What gives?

I haved the same problem with Digilux 2 and Sank Disk Ultra GB.,but i have formated in the kamara and the problem was out.

I have the same problem with my Digilux 2, though I had no trouble with a 5 year old 1 GB SD Ultra card but the same messages you have with new ones (2GB Ultra). I formatted these with my Panasonic G1 and it was fine. I've also had no trouble with Kingston standard cards.

Hope that helps, personally I think its some thing to do with old cameras/new cards but who knows

One of the reasons why I bought two more 2 GB cards not long ago. Regualr San Disk, not ultras, and they formatted well.

The irony of it is that I formatted it in the Digilux 2 to no avail, then on a whim I tried formating it in my girlfriend's Nikon Coolpix P and S...and it worked fine:rolleyes:
