sunbird Posted May 9, 2011 Share #1 Posted May 9, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I need to stitch together a large group photo from our village Royal Wedding Day. I took a series of 6 images with M8 / 75 Summilux. I use Lightroom so no stitching facility there. I'd be grateful for your advice on which software to use for this. Many thanks Chris

vanhulsenbeek Posted May 9, 2011 Share #2 Posted May 9, 2011 There is a good Pano facility in Photoshop and the best - paid - programs are PtGui and Autopano. I use PtGui and am happy with it. This seems to be a free program, link copied as is (not tried/no guarantee) Hugin - Panorama photo stitcher

Many thanks Chris A large 'group' photo?... hope everyone kept perfectly still, otherwise the software might not return an absolutely 100% acceptable stitch. I have used Photoshop in the past (stationary objects) with excellent results. Regards Ali

I've mocked up the montage and it looks ok, certainly a fun reminder of a great day. What was interesting was a friend was taking the 'official' pics on a Nikon DSLR, I was there with a 75 Lux on taking candid portraits. All of a sudden we were being organised for the group shot. I had no time to change lens, so jumped out to where the other photographer was set up shot away from side to side. From the 12 I took I used 6 to do the mock up. The frame was nicely filled with the crowd with a narrow band of sky above, and grass below. The 75 is such a performer for me especially wide open, however I'd never have put that on for the group shot. I'm looking forward to the world of panorama. Thanks
