vickersdc Posted May 7, 2011 Share #1 Posted May 7, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'd like to be able to connect my 1937 Hektor 13.5cm lens to my Visoflex, or rather to be specific the head of the lens. I believe there should be a short focus mount / adapter to allow this connection as it is mentioned in a couple of my Leica books, but I've been unable to find the code for this item. Can anyone help with this please? Many thanks, David.
Advertisement Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Hi vickersdc, Take a look here Which adapter do I need? Visoflex & 13.5cm.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
rickp13 Posted May 7, 2011 Share #2 Posted May 7, 2011 these two charts should help. the rings/adapters shown in red are for macro use. the black rings are the important ones. good luck, rick
vickersdc Posted May 8, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted May 8, 2011 Thanks Rick, Looks like I'll be needing the 16464 focus adapter (as I already have the 16472). I've also found a short focus mount in a shop, but looking at your diagram it seems that I'd still need the 16466 adapter anyway. Just how confusing is all this! Cheers, David. rickp13 Posted May 8, 2011 Share #4 Posted May 8, 2011 you're welcome, david. i've heard leica or leitz referred to as the "lord of the rings", which must be a reference to visoflex adapters etc. if you have time, search for posts here from jc_braconi. i think they're called "a little #", and consist of photos from sr. braconi's huge collection of leitz and leica goodies. one or more of them will surely cover the visoflex families! have fun rick
luigi bertolotti Posted May 8, 2011 Share #5 Posted May 8, 2011 Thanks Rick, Looks like I'll be needing the 16464 focus adapter (as I already have the 16472). Correct... 16464 and 16472 are mandatory, 16471 is an option to have more extension. 16464 was previously coded as OTZFO, so if you serach for one or the other, is the same: it cannot be confused with any other focusing mount... the 16467/OUAGO for Elmar 90 is someway similar, but definitely shorter. The "short focus mount" you quote can be all another thing... it was used to focus 135 on the Visoflex 1 at normal ranges... from your post, it seems clear that you have a Visoflex II or III. Your Viso is a Viso I, so you need the short mounting ramp 16495/ZOOAN (exist in black paint or in chrome). http://www.summilux.net/photos3/Jean-Yves/objectif-et-rampe-de-MAP-we.jpg

Thanks, as you quite rightly say I had already written in the other thread that it was a Visoflex I - but how do I know? What are the defining characteristics? I believe that the Visoflex I was shorter than the II or III..?
luigi bertolotti Posted May 9, 2011 Share #13 Posted May 9, 2011 Indeed, Visoflex I is a bit LONGER than II/III, in fact, to be equal to I, II and III need a typical and very common adapter ring (OUBIO). See my previous post to look for some basic infos on Visoflexes.
