Advertisement Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Hi ho_co, Take a look here Elmarit 135mm: Opinions on an M8?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Double Negative Posted May 11, 2011 Share #22 Posted May 11, 2011 I recently picked up a 4/135 Tele-Elmar-M; mostly to use on the M9 but also the M8 and Ikon/ZI. On the M8 of course, it makes a killer 180mm equivalent. The biggest "issue" is framing. You either have to zen it using the RF patch and 90mm framelines as a guideline (though this lens doesn't bring up the 28/90 framelines on the M8). Ideally you want a 180mm external VF and very few, mostly zoom finders, will do this. On the M9 of course, the proper framelines are brought up for 135mm which makes using it on one a real treat - I've been shooting with nothing else since getting it... Heh. LOVE the lens. Here it is on the M8 and a sample shot.
zombii Posted May 13, 2011 Share #23 Posted May 13, 2011 Big, heavy and you have to remove any grip to get it on or off. But sharp as a tack and not so hard to focus with the the goggles and an eyepiece magnifier.
