Advertisement Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Hi spylaw4, Take a look here Salt Lake. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted February 1, 2007 Share #2 Posted February 1, 2007 Brian - Lovely colors, light, composition, depth and the feeling of imense space. I wonder if it needs to be punched up just a bit like that one photo of the museum details. I don't have any of that software here, so I can't try. spylaw4 Posted February 1, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted February 1, 2007 Many thanks once more Stuart. Space there was aplenty - I will be posting some others. For this one, I'll have another try at adjusting it, but the light was by then very soft as it neared sunset.
andybarton Posted February 1, 2007 Share #4 Posted February 1, 2007 This is a lovely shot. I agree with Stuart. An Auto Color Correction and a slight levels adjustment has worked wonders on this. Boosting the blue of the sky with a grad filter has really made it something special. This is definitely worth having a play with, Brian.
jmr Posted February 1, 2007 Share #5 Posted February 1, 2007 Brian, they beat me to it - probably while I was playing with your lovely image in PS.

spylaw4 Posted February 2, 2007 Author Share #7 Posted February 2, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thank you all for the comments and helpful suggestions. I've now had a chance to have another look at this. Interestingly it seems to be in the Export to web-size jpeg from Lightroom where the problem lies. I took the original RAW file, which was much more lively overall and exported it. This resulted in an almost identical image to that posted. This seems to happen only occasionally (e.g. the Museum shot, Stuart) as most of the others I've posted have not suffered from this problem. Adjusting the image to take account of the muddying effect and comparing with the original RAW file gives the attached.. It's a little bit brighter than the original RAW (and also than I remember the light at the time) but I can live with that. BTW - I have never been able to get to grips with Photoshop. Maybe it's just me but I find it difficult and anything but intuitive.
