Advertisement Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Hi Overgaard, Take a look here Which camera is or has been the true love of your life. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
marknorton Posted April 26, 2011 Share #2 Posted April 26, 2011 Interesting result for the M7. Is its lowly position because of the relative volumes compared to the M6 or because the electronics in the M7 is seen to dilute the purity of the camera? Also, isolate the digital Ms and Leica is getting better at making digital M cameras for people to "fall in love" with. The M10 will presumably be off the scale. Personally, I would add the Nikon D3* but it's a good result for the M9.
giordano Posted April 26, 2011 Share #3 Posted April 26, 2011 The responses show that Leica lovers are a somewhat promiscuous bunch.
Overgaard Posted April 26, 2011 Author Share #4 Posted April 26, 2011 Yes, I would expect M4, M6 and M9 to rank high as a straight line of very good and best selling Leica M cameras. However, nobody have mentioned M4 so far. And Leicaflex and Digilux 2 I would expect to be popular as well. I just take note how for example the X1 rank so far; only 1 person mention that camera. adli Posted April 26, 2011 Share #5 Posted April 26, 2011 Users of electronic cameras ar more likely to be on facebook than M4 users?
bpalme Posted April 26, 2011 Share #6 Posted April 26, 2011 Maybe post that link on Canon and Nikon forums too... Basically all camera forums on DPR to get a more even keel vote.
pico Posted April 26, 2011 Share #7 Posted April 26, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Users of electronic cameras ar more likely to be on facebook than M4 users? You might be on to something: consider the demographics of facebook. I refuse to use Facebook, but my vote would be #1 Leica M2 (my first), #2 M7, #3 M4 and from my experience so far, the M9 might end up #1. I just have not had it long enough to know. leicanut2 Posted April 26, 2011 Share #8 Posted April 26, 2011 I wonder how many people still have a fond memories of there FIRST camera, may not be the best or for that matter even a good camera. I still have fond memories traveling out cross country as a kid in my first car by my self taking hundreds of pictures with a Argus C3. And I still have those pictures 38 years later. Did the same trip three years later on a Eletra Glide with the same Argus. Those were the days. Cheers Jan

Overgaard Posted April 26, 2011 Author Share #10 Posted April 26, 2011 Yes, I think it should be the love factor. Your first love, and then hopefully you re-found that feeling with later cameras.
garyp Posted April 26, 2011 Share #11 Posted April 26, 2011 I heard just today that the majority of current FB users are over 50 years old ! Surprised me a bit.

I'm not bothered about Facebook either but my first Leica an M2 was my first love, then the M4 I have now and finally my Digilux
maurometallo Posted April 28, 2011 Share #13 Posted April 28, 2011 My father bought for me, as a gift when I finished studying, an M4-P and a 50mm Summicron. It was November 1986. I love her, she has been with me everyday ever since and she still takes all my pictures. I don't want another camera.

luigi bertolotti Posted April 28, 2011 Share #15 Posted April 28, 2011 Can't vote... I'm not on facebook (only my daughters...), but, as a longtime deep Leica passionate, I'd anyway answer... Rolleiflex 3,5 f
