tuanvo1982 Posted April 25, 2011 Share #1 Posted April 25, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Some dusts in my 35mm lens were very annoying to me. I would like to send to a service and it may cost me around £50 but the issue is always take 1-2 weeks. I can't wait and I have alot of free time in this Easter. Today, I made a decision to open the lens. Installing the aperture ring was very very tough. I spent 6 hours for this process. Finally, I get rid of dust and it is working perfectly. I was very lucky. I never want to try it again. If anyone would like to open this lens, Please don't open the front glasses. Otherwise, you get big big issues with the aperture ring with a lot of tiny things.

Xmas Posted April 26, 2011 Share #3 Posted April 26, 2011 Hi Vo You should have said and you could have borrowed a lens over the holiday... I did not notice much dust in your lens when I looked... I only ever strip lenses with fungus or fog, dust wont make any difference to the lens. Tu must keep your house real dust free cause mine always contain new dust after reassembly. Some lenses have ball bearings held on springs strong enough they enter orbit. Others need special tools to reassemble... Noel

tuanvo1982 Posted April 26, 2011 Author Share #5 Posted April 26, 2011 I realise that all the dusts came from blades when you open or close aperture. @Xmas: you are right but it is better now
