Orient XI Posted May 6, 2014 Share #3101 Â Posted May 6, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Correct answer Stuny and to the degree of precision required. There are no named towns, rivers, or lakes on maps available in the UK, so it is difficult to be more precise than "the Rockies in Montana". The scene is, I estimate, around 100 miles south of Glacier National Park. Over to you.

a.j.z Posted May 11, 2014 Share #3104 Â Posted May 11, 2014 Hmm, looks somehow familiar. Mediterranean? France?
larsv Posted May 11, 2014 Share #3105 Â Posted May 11, 2014 I also think Mediterranee. But looking at the roof, I think it may be more to the east, towards the former east block. Montenegro or that area.
a.j.z Posted May 11, 2014 Share #3106 Â Posted May 11, 2014 (edited) Yes, but this is not so common for visitors from the US but on the other hand Stuart has been almost anywhere. Could be Opatija, Croatia. I think this should be it? Edited May 11, 2014 by a.j.z

stuny Posted May 11, 2014 Share #3109 Â Posted May 11, 2014 I'm most impressed with how both Lars and Andreas quickly narrowed it down based on such scant evidence, and then Andreas got it exactly with Opatija. Your turn.

larsv Posted May 12, 2014 Share #3111 Â Posted May 12, 2014 Thank you, Stu. For me it was the combination of the colored slate tiles, the architecture, the background landscape and the (Italian) built of the motor yacht. I thought Andreas very clever for figuring out the exact location!
a.j.z Posted May 12, 2014 Share #3112 Â Posted May 12, 2014 There are not too many places in the Adriatic Sea where you can find such buildings directly at the sea and Opatija was a well known holiday spot in the times of the Austrian-Hungarian empire, thus with a lot of palace like hotels and villas. I found out that even the emporer had resided in this building.

Michael Geschlecht Posted May 12, 2014 Share #3114 Â Posted May 12, 2014 Hello Andreas, Â Could we be somewhere in Southern Europe? Perhaps not too far from the Mediterranean? Or 1 of its adjoining Seas? Â Best Regards, Â Michael

a.j.z Posted May 13, 2014 Share #3117 Â Posted May 13, 2014 It is nothing unusual. I even saw photos taken from the same location in this forum ... Â Maybe somebody wants to narrow it down on the basis of Michael's suggestion (and my answer)?
