Ah, I found some M8/WATE-pictures from 2007 I had almost forgot. Where is this?

Vinga fyr?

Stuart,

That was a very good guess! Evert Taube lived at Vinga Fyr in his childhood. - Vinga is a very promenent lighthouse with a history that can be seen when sailing with the ferries going between Gothenburg and Fredrikshavn. - I have seen Vinga many times.

But the lighthouse on my picture is farther north...

I have shown this photo earlier. It's from the village. Still a fishing village, but popular with the tourists during the summer. (To buy a house here costs a fortune..).

Hello Olsen,

It is surprising it costs a fortune. Even though I am sure it is very nice in the Summer, I would think you would get some sort of a discount for all of that ice & snow.

Best Regards,

Michael

Who enjoyed a February in Lulea.

Even for a modest wodden house that needs repair you have to pay - about - a million US$. Ice and snow included, but without a private car park. Nor any privacy. The place is packed with tourists during the summer that leans over and looks into the low windows. The place is like a wooden medina. But it is not so dark as Luleå during the winter.

Hello Olsen,

I prefer public transportation, which is quite nice in Sweden, so I don't need a car park.

It is somewhat dark in Lulea in February but if you are with the right person that is not much of an issue.

Best Regards,

Michael

:) :)

When doing my military service just north of Narvik, Norway, we took the train to Luleå - for the Luleå Saturday Night Dance which was legendary....

Regarding the village in the picture: I sailed from Oslo to the village in question, with a friend of mine, just after finishing our military service. I have never felt so 'free'. Nobody bossed us around. But: Our money ran out - and the water ran in - to the small sailboat. But we managed to get home, somehow.
