I hope this not too difficult.... Where are we and what are we looking at?

Good luck,

Jan

Hello Michael,

Thanks for the congratulations - just a fluke as I got on the computer at the right time and knew both locations without having to rely on Mr. Google.....

As to your guess - sorry, wrong continent as well as hemisphere......

Best,

Jan

This place is closer to my home than the Mackenzie River - as per my response to Michael. So - it will not be in South Dakota. I admit that not too many have probably been here, it is in the middle of nowhere but, there is a lot of history there (at least by North American standards...;) )

You can see an airstrip in the corner of the photo which even has a four-letter identifier, just like any other airport.

Good luck,

Jan

To help along again, another hint - the river below me is the Fraser. As I hinted earlier, we are looking at a ranch that used to be the largest in North America......

It has its own airport and even built its own bridge across the mighty Fraser river.

I hope that Google's search engines will start cooking now.....

Good luck,

Jan

THANK YOU, Stuart!

Yes, it is the Gang Ranch - as I said, it used to be the biggest ranch in North America; now it is the second largest in Canada. Lots of local history there: Gang Ranch - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It is really in the middle of nowhere, the closest settlement is a small native village by the name of Dog Creek..... However - a beautiful drive to get there, in the middle of true Canadian wilderness. For our German members - an area which would be perfectly suited for Karl May and his Winetou and Old Shatterhand....

Over to you, Stuart.

Best,

Jan

Jan -

Thank you. The name of this one is easy, but the location is a bit harder.
