Well... If we are north of Belize, we must be on the Riviera Maya somewhere between Chetumal and Cancún.... This could be almost anywhere - Xelha, Tulúm, Cozumel, Playa del Carmen etc etc. Could also be my favourite hiding spot - Isla Mujeres though I don't think so...

Best,

Jan

Jan - You're in the right general area.

Jan & Lars - You forget I wrote not an island (Neither the lovely Isla Mujeres nor Cozumel).

Claus - This thread is a puzzle thread in which the person who identifies the photo gets to post the next puzzle photo. So, we will guess your photo's location only if you are the first to identiy the location of the last photo.

Stuart,

Are you looking for an exact name of the beach in the lower right corner of the photo or, just a general description of the locality?... ;) This really could be anywhere along Riviera Maya - the gorgeous blue is unmistakably Caribbean.

As to Isla Mujeres - let's keep quiet about it, otherwise it will turn into another Cozumel.....

Cheers,

Jan

Stuart,

As I mentioned earlier - this really could be anywhere as there are no identifying features.... So, it is down to a guessing game; I already guessed Chetumal, Cancún, Tulúm, Xelha an Playa del Carmen, so Akumal, Playacar, Punta Allen, Chalacal and many others remain.

The beaches and the sea are all identically beautiful in this part of Mexico.....

I would hope this to be a part of the beach below the Tulúm ruins but, there are two deep sea cenotes there that should be visible in the photo. I don't see any so we are probably not looking down from Tulúm.

I understand that Isla Mujeres is suffering a long-lasting invasion of ferocious mosquitoes and sharks have been sighted patrolling Playa Norte so, at this time I would advise against visiting there.....

Cheers,

Jan

Sorry, Jan. I didn't perceive your list of possibles as a guess rather than a list. It is Cancun, a location that was overbuilt a quarter of a century ago when it was just a small fraction of what it is now. Your turn.

Thanks, Stuart.

I guess I was not very clear when submitting my guesses - the photo did not have any identifying features, so I was just shooting in the dark. There really are not too many choices on the Riviera Maya coast and Cancún was the most obvious one.

Yes, it is now overbuilt and feels like Miami Beach. I think I'd rather spend some time in Miami Beach than Cancún.....

I'll need a little time to find something 'from above'......

Cheers,

Jan
