etibeti Posted April 9, 2012 Share #1101 Posted April 9, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) After hours of traveling with Google Earth I got it! Unfortunately I´ve no capture to proceed. If there´s somebody to take over I would name river and city.

doubice Posted April 9, 2012 Share #1102 Posted April 9, 2012 After hours of traveling with Google Earth I got it! Unfortunately I´ve no capture to proceed. If there´s somebody to take over I would name river and city. Traveling with Google Earth can be fun too! As there were only three responses to this puzzle and we all know that Michael does not know how to upload a photo, Stuart seems to be the logical choice for the next photo. Why don't you divulge your findings so that Stuart can have the honour of the next post..? Cheers, Jan

Cheers, Jan O.k., the right answer should be Thompson River, Ashcroft. regards Andreas
doubice Posted April 9, 2012 Share #1104 Posted April 9, 2012 Absolutely correct, Andreas. The bustling metropolis of Ashcroft on the bank of the Thompson River it is.. Interesting 'feature' of the town is that both Canadian railways (Canadian National and Canadian Pacific) run through it and no matter which hotel/motel you pick as your temporary home for the night, you will not get much of rest. Trains run about every 30 minutes to 1 hour and sound their horns at every crossing in town, waking everybody up. I guess with the exception of the few locals who must be used to it by now..... The train in the photo is heading north to the coal mines of Tumbler Ridge or Chetwynd to pick up a load of coal and will be coming back south to the port of Vancouver to fulfill the needs of the Asian markets. OK Stuart - your turn. Best, Jan
stuny Posted April 9, 2012 Share #1105 Posted April 9, 2012 (edited) Andreas does not have an appropriate photo so he and Jan have asked me to post the next puzzle photo. For this one, country and region, please. Extra credit for identifying the aircraft from which i took the photo. However, I don't have postable access to it and will edit it in in 11 hours. dachs Posted April 10, 2012 Share #1109 Posted April 10, 2012 (edited) about the middle of the northerly run-up to the Atlas, say, pointing at Rabat. very little curve on the window and presumably high wing aircraft flying lower than normal commercials so let's try a Cessna or similar. Aerial Sherlock am I (not, probably!)
