Alright, here we go. Slightly different location and cultural background from Lars’ last photo ;)…… I hope we are high enough to qualify for ‘World from above’ - I am looking for the name of the body of water and the name of the settlement, which should not be that difficult once you know the first….

I guess it is the ore cars that triggered the responses - no, there is no quary or mine close by. And - it is not the Missouri River.

 

It does get reasonably cold here in the winter but, that has nothing to do with the train or its load - just with the geographical location of the place.

 

First hint - trains like this travel along this route regularly, always empty on the way up and full on the way down.
