For pity's sake please download either Mozilla Firefox or Opera and install either or both. They will both ask if you want whichever to be your default browser and so you answer 'yes'. This does nothing to your IE installation, IE just sits there unused and it means you get to use a better browser by default. It's got nothing to do with using a Mac or a PC - IE is basically CR.P and can easily be replaced. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

But if you have a website yourself and want others to view it many people will have Vista and IE7, so yes, it is an issue. earleygallery Posted February 6, 2007 Share #26 Posted February 6, 2007 I browse through AOL at home, I don't use IE, even so it was interfering with the appearance of graphics. Since I've uninstalled it the graphics/text is appearing sharp again but text on e mail for example is still coming up funny. I didn't install the 'Go Back' software that came with my anti virus stuff, but I am still covered by PC Worlds support/warranty......good reason to take it back to them and they can sort it all out! It's specifically developed to work with OS X. It's fast and accurate. Firefox is a multi-OS development, and its "Jack-of-All-Trades" approach sometimes gets in the way. think Posted February 7, 2007 Share #29 Posted February 7, 2007 While I still use Firefox on my Macs Camino is a nice alternative and runs well with excellent site compatibility. On my WinXP machines I still use Firefox as the default and have relegated the IE icon to one buried location in case I have to use it for something. I don't like ActiveX and what it does/allows so I just don't install the plug-in for in Firefox...problem solved. I highly recommend Firefox. All of its available security and functional plug-in support along with the highly creative community supporting its themes make it the most appealing and functional browser out there (IMHO).
