I recently started using my R lenses on the Digilux 3 to shoot sports.

When I press on the shutter button, it fires quickly but other times it seems to fire less. Any other suggestions to get more frames per second by adjusting something on the menus?

Thanks

Are you shooting RAW or large jpgs and filling the buffer?

R lenses with an adapter for sports seems like a very poor kludge.

I am shooting RAW and I agree its a poor choice. However, all the Leica digital bodies don't offer more than 2-3 frames per second except for the Digilux 3 which may be 3-4 per second. I am trying to make the best of what I currently own. Thanks for your comments.:)

Well, it works great on a Canon 5D2! I'll assume you meant on the Digilux 3 specifically.

According to dpreview tests - Panasonic Lumix DMC-L1 Review: 11. Timings & Sizes: Digital Photography Review

the Panasonic version of the Digilux 3 can do 6 raw shots in a burst (22-28 in JPEG), but then requires 6 seconds of waiting for the buffer to clear before the next two shots, and another six seconds for the next two, etc.

Interestingly, the reviewer says "frankly I doubt this will be much of an issue as very few people use RAW mode when shooting continuously." ;)
