zanydave Posted January 31, 2007 Share #1 Posted January 31, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Sorry about posting both but couldn't decide which version I prefferred. Your fault Rolo, see what you've started.
Advertisement Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Hi zanydave, Take a look here King of Chrome. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jmr Posted January 31, 2007 Share #2 Posted January 31, 2007 Dave, clearly both good shots, but for me the car's more of the star in the first - very nice.
elansprint72 Posted January 31, 2007 Share #3 Posted January 31, 2007 Dave, clearly both good shots, but for me the car's more of the star in the first - very nice. Totally agree, suits the period. Tatton Park? Pete.
Rolo Posted January 31, 2007 Share #4 Posted January 31, 2007 Good choice Dave. It's a winner, but just give it a bit more TLC and make it jump off the page. You might be rushing to publish. Look at the alternatives, back and forth. That's my opinion, but no need to be influenced by me. I never do cars, just trucks. Rolo
Peter41951 Posted January 31, 2007 Share #5 Posted January 31, 2007 Great Buick shot - I think on balance I prefer the colour one.
azzo Posted January 31, 2007 Share #6 Posted January 31, 2007 I'd go for the monochrome version. Nice pic of this beautiful car Dave. Azzo
stuny Posted January 31, 2007 Share #7 Posted January 31, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Dave - What are big boats like a '57 chevy and a '58 Buick doing in the UK? Forget the fuel costs, they won't fit on some of the roads (and leave room for anything else). Like both versions, but Rolo's mods make it even better. andybarton Posted January 31, 2007 Share #8 Posted January 31, 2007 They certainly won't go round the bends in the road There's a daft fashion for kids to hire 40 foot long imported American limos at the moment. Apparently they are "too dangerous" for US roads, so they ship them over here. I have seen them so long that they literally can't go round some of the bends in towns, and have to do 3 point turns to get round. I prefer a Black & White version of this. Either will do
zanydave Posted January 31, 2007 Author Share #9 Posted January 31, 2007 Rolo, I prefer your version. Thanks. Dave.
abrewer Posted February 1, 2007 Share #10 Posted February 1, 2007 Hi Rolo. Great angle for these shots. I think these "big-boned" cars show their muscles best from a low angle like this...very nice composition. The tones of your black and white conversion are remarkble as far as I'm concerned. It would be my personal "peoples' choice" if I were forced to choose one over the other. Thanks for sharing. Allan

All, except a tiny little bit, of the credit must go to David McZany. It's his photo and his vision that captured the lovely image. I, and others, somehow feel the right to show him the light by messing at our desks whilst he drinks beer. Myself, I just love the way that chrome grille can sparkle ! lambroving Posted February 1, 2007 Share #12 Posted February 1, 2007 Gad! Is that thing hideous!!! Matter of taste, I'm sure, but I prefer your first version which empasizes that grille and all that chrome. Like the way you framed it and the poses of the participants.
