jcrutcher Posted April 10, 2011 Share #24 Posted April 10, 2011 I argee the AF is much faster than before. I would like to ask about low light using a flash (SF-24), I've started to manual focus at F5.6 or 8 to speed up that shutter release when my subject (18month old boy) is on the move. With AF I was missing shots. Any advice with this? Thanks Jim

wda Posted April 12, 2011 Share #28 Posted April 12, 2011 This is with the circular polarizer on it. Undoubtedly such attachments add to the versatility of the X1. But does it not do so at the expense of its intrinsic compactness?
stephen.w Posted April 12, 2011 Share #29 Posted April 12, 2011 Undoubtedly such attachments add to the versatility of the X1. But does it not do so at the expense of its intrinsic compactness? I agree, that's a lot of added bulk without much corresponding gain. My experience has been that the X1 lens is pretty good at handling flare. ChiILX1 Posted April 12, 2011 Share #30 Posted April 12, 2011 Undoubtedly such attachments add to the versatility of the X1. But does it not do so at the expense of its intrinsic compactness? Sure it does so, as I said, it's only for going out on a photowalk or specifically to take photos. If you want it for your pocket you can put the original parts back by just screwing the adapter off. My experience has been that the X1 lens is pretty good at handling flare. I thought I read somewhere that the lens was specifically designed to reduce flare
