John Ricard Posted March 28, 2011 Share #1 Posted March 28, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Howcome every Leica aftermarket accessory has a website that looks like it was made in 1995? I'm talking about websites for various add on grips for the M9 and sites that sell straps to hold the camera. Every one has an ancient design using frames, links that go nowhere, horrible photography...I could go on and on. Is it that difficult to find a modern looking website template? Advertisement Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Hi John Ricard, Take a look here Howcome every Leica aftermarket accessory.... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Shootist Posted March 28, 2011 Share #2 Posted March 28, 2011 Those sites were probably made years ago by the people that make the products they are trying to sell. They are product makers not web designers and probably, before the M digitals came out, didn't sell enough stock to afford a Pro designer and now see no good reason to update there sites. It has been working fine for years and still is. You visited them to buy something, right. Did you buy something? If so then the site works. KISS If it really bothers you so much stop going to them. dwbell Posted March 28, 2011 Share #3 Posted March 28, 2011 John, Whatever you do man, don't go to Luigi's site to buy a half case! You'll either love him for his "out there"-ness (as I do) or you'll shoot yourself on the spot! Cheers!

Don't exaggerate John, not every aftermarket accessory has a web site designed in the 1990's, some are so exclusive they don't have a web site at all......like the Thumbie grip for instance. sblitz Posted March 28, 2011 Share #5 Posted March 28, 2011 . . . . and for some reason you can't buy a thumbs up from a retailer in the US. asked the salesguys at photo village in nyc, who stock a&a bags and straps, and they said the thumb people don't want to. off the point regarding the website design. only point of a website i care about is if efficiently gets me where i need to be to order what i want to buy. after that, it is all white noise. pico Posted March 28, 2011 Share #7 Posted March 28, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Gee, John, I guess they weren't expecting you to visit. Be sure to tell them that you think their site sucks, and certainly purchase without caution from pretty sites.

earleygallery Posted March 29, 2011 Share #9 Posted March 29, 2011 I think web design is getting worse. Because more people have faster computers and broadband the web designers can't help themselves from including lots of animation, video clips that run automatically, music etc. etc. I went onto the website of a rugby club the other day, to see where their stadium was and it took a good few minutes of searching through their website to find it. Even then there were two grounds mentioned and it wasn't clear which was their main ground. Then yesterday I looked at the site of a theatre, not one I've been to before so again I wanted to check where they were and then see if tickets for a particular show were available. Same problem - the ticket info was buried deep inside the site, and surely selling tickets is the main reason for having it! Grrrrrr. KISS!
