toff Posted April 2, 2011 Share #762 Â Posted April 2, 2011 Has anyone else noticed that if the camera is in playback mode (ie displaying a previously taken photo) that shutdown is almost immediate, rather than having to wait the few seconds I seem to remember in V1? Â Unfortunately, this rapid shutdown does not seem to occur while in liveview mode. That's odd...I wonder why Solms programmed it this way? wda Posted April 2, 2011 Share #764  Posted April 2, 2011 I have updated the firmware to version 2.0 as instructed but the manual focus function has completely stopped:(. Can anyone offer any advice or comment on this? Thanks,  Kevin Kevin, welcome to the Leica forum! As a newcomer you may not be familiar with the Search function. In fact your question was raised several times in another thread. You are not the first one to be caught out. Incidentally, did you download the pdf file of instructions? It gives you a summary of improved features.

everyman Posted April 3, 2011 Share #766 Â Posted April 3, 2011 i just got a new X1 yesterday. I went to upgrade the firmware and i don't understand what is happening. which is nothing. 1. i downloaded the firmware upgrade. 2. i opened the zip file. 3. i formatted the card. 4. i placed it on the top level of the card. 5. i placed the card inside the camera. 6. and there is no message that asks me to confirm if i want to upgrade. zero. nada. i put the card in several times. i even downloaded and did the whole process again. 7. am i supposed to go into format and when it asks if i want to format, press yes. 8. i never remember it happening that way. 9. i think the camera is automatically supposed to recognize the file you just put in on the sd card and ask if you want to upgrade. 10. what am i missing here? this is unnerving to me. otherwise my x1 is stellar and performs perfectly. any ideas? please help thank you. I went to upgrade the firmware and i don't understand what is happening. which is nothing.1. i downloaded the firmware upgrade. 2. i opened the zip file. 3. i formatted the card. 4. i placed it on the top level of the card. Â Make sure it's really top level and not the DCIM-folder you put your file. Make sure the file is named "X1-V20.upd" Both (DCIM and X1-V20.upd) should bee seen side by side when looking at the SD-Card in finder. Â If all this does not work: Use another SD-card. Some (especially bigger SD-cards) where reported to make problems with the update. Â Good luck. Â Mike
